The "Feathers rugs" by Maarten De Ceulaer on show at Monologue London

12.09.2019 - Editorial

Maarten De Ceulaer is a Belgian designer, who just got selected as one of the 100 designers of 2019 by Architectural Digest. He will soon present his works at the London Design Festival 2019 as well as hold a lecture at Brussels Design September 2019.

Maarten De Ceulaer

Maarten De Ceulaer has always had an affinity for birds. Ever since discovering the works of John James Audubon and John Gould, he has regularly created illustrations, inspired by their works. For each image, he scans digitally isolates and combines various birds together, often tweaking and morphing them into further abstraction. The collages he creates are then transformed into rich rugs, hand-knotted in Himalayan wool and silk.

Both of his "Feathers" rugs for CC-Tapis will be on show at Monologue London during the London Design Festival 2019. The opening night is on September 17th from 7pm onwards.
