Van Duysen Architecture in Paris

17.07.2017 - Editorial board

Vincent Van Duysen, a Lokeren-born, Ghent-educated, Antwerp-based architect with two decades of work behind his belt is curating the highlights of his career at Paris Design Week in September. Through a series of models and designs, the Italian design firm Molteni&C|Dada has partnered with Van Duysen, establishing him as the creative director in the retroactive exhibition.

QUINTEN by Van Duysen

Photos, models, new designs and re-editions will be presented at the flagship store in Paris.

Among the new work showcased will be an update to the QUINTEN, Van Duysen’s perfectly proportioned sideboards, an attentive choice of materials and a new option of glass doors for 2017, to expand the piece’s refined attention to individual detail.

In VVD kitchen design, winner of this year’s Edida awards, Vincent Van Duysen reinterprets the kitchen, giving the home space a sleek new architectural look. Alternating materials perpetuate sophistication and dynamism, seamlessly interweaving innovation and classical function. An aluminum load-bearing frame allows for compositions completely suspended from the floor. New technology is visible throughout in details such as the built-in LED strip lights, innovative pivot hinges allowing flexibility in the workspace and minimizing the girth of things. Van Duysens’ continued influential style is visible in the simplistic ceiling units and slim, transparent glass cupboards with shock absorbed micro-hinge.

The exhibit will run from 8-16 September 2017 and will allow visitors the first glimpse at some of these latest products, last presented at the Salone del Mobile.
