bulthaup launches best "living space kitchen" competition

The first edition of the competition "bulthaup's best project" distinguishes the work of architects and interior designers from Belgium, and more specifically their projects featuring a bulthaup kitchen as a living space.

bulthaup intends to find the kitchens made by an interior designer or an architect in collaboration with one of the Belgian partners of bulthaup. The project must reflect the timeless character of the bulthaup brand and affirm the central role of the kitchen in the living space.

The jury will consider not only aesthetics, but also the choice of materials, durability, functionality and creative play with all the possibilities offered by bulthaup. This years jury consists of: Dieter Van Den Storm - design journalist, curator and e.a. communication expert for Vitra, Artek, Bozar and Biennale Interieur, Nick Bril - Head Chef at The Jane Antwerp & The Jane Table, Magalie Munters - Founder Office O architects in Ghent & Giant 1st Häuser Awards 2017, Dries Tack - Founder Escritoire branding agency / belgianboutique.be / Epiqurium and Business Development Director Gault & Millau and Thomas De Bruyne - Architecture Photographer and Graphic Designer / cafeine.be.

bulthaup b Solitaire piece

The three nominees - architectural and interior design firms - will be announced on May 20. They are invited for an exclusive dinner on June 19 at The Jane Table, during which the winner will be presented. The designer of the winning project will receive a bulthaup b Solitaire piece in large format glass, worth 8 400 euros.

Conditions and participation:

The submitted projects are already realized bulthaup kitchens. For the first edition of "bulthaup's best project", projects from the last five years (from 2013 to 2018) are accepted.

Submit documents to press@bulthaupbelgium.be:

- the contact details of the designer and / or the office responsible for the project

- the name of the bulthaup partner with whom you collaborated

- the year of realization

- min. 3 and max. 5 actionable business photos on bulthaup's social media

- the name of the photographer

- the project description: maximum 3 A4 pages presenting the concept of cooking, the choice of materials and a description of the kitchen in the wider context of housing and its environment. Illustrations, visual material and drawings can be added to your choice.
