Van Snick : leading the Belgian art scene for half a century

Avant-Garde artist Phillipe Van Snick has made it to the art scene back in the 60’s. It was his explorations in minimalism and dualism that made him different.

Later on in his career he started working with colours. The perfected decimal color scheme helped him reach his international fame.

This year Van Snick was recognized for his lifetime achievements and awarded The Flemish Culture Prize for Visual Arts Ultima 2017. The artist was honoured for his ability to stay relevant by constantly reinventing his art that combines architecture, painting, and sculpture.

At the moment you can view Van Snick’s work at Ostend’s art exhibition 'The raft. Art is (not) lonely'. As of June 24th his life’s work will be celebrated at Tatjana Pieters’ gallery in Ghent.
